Race Description

Join us on Sunday October 7, 2012 as Eagle Eye Associates’ puts on the Race for Sight 5K/15K Trail Races at Marsh Creek State Park in Downingtown, PA (Reeds Road Entrance). For the 5K, the course starts out on a wide gravel trail with gently rolling hills, then at the halfway point you enter the single track trail that hugs the lake the entire way back. This is a great course for someone who is new to trail running! The 15K will break off from the 5K at the 1.5 mile mark, will cross over the dam for the best view of the lake in the entire park, and will use a new network of trails that have not been used in any other race! The 15K trails are mostly single track and are very well maintained, but there will still be plenty of challenges for the seasoned trail runner. Expect some hills and a few easy stream crossings (you can basically jump over them if you don’t want to get your feet wet!).

A raffle will follow the event with a wide variety of items, including things like a gift certificate for a free 30 minute massage.

All proceeds will benefit the Choroideremia Research Foundation (CRF). Choroideremia is a rare genetic disorder that affects the choroid/retina of the eye and eventually leads to blindness, often around age 30. Major research breakthroughs have been made over the past 2 years, but funding remains of the utmost importance to finding a cure. For those currently diagnosed with this disease, time is of the essence to finding a cure. More information can be found at http://choroideremia.org/crf/
