Race Description

** NEW start/finish location with a flat and short walk to the start **

The Cheddar Gorge Challenge races are amongst the most scenic events in the country! With a start and finish located right on the gorge edge you are in for some beautiful running. There is mixture of open fields, woodland running and rock paths making this a great all round off road challenge.

The trails have one or two climbs, most notably the Hell Steps, a little longer than they might first appear. But from there you will experience breath taking cliff top running as you run along the gorge edge towards the first drinks station. The route then heads over to the highest point on the Mendip Hills with great views over the Bristol Channel to Wales. There are 4 amazing feed stations with cookies, cakes, jelly beans, oranges, bananas and of course water to power you around the course.

There are custom medals, refreshments and ice pops awaiting the runners at the finish line!

NEW for this year, we are joining up with the National Trust Suoth West Outdoor Festival. Over the weekned 8th – 10th September there will be camping, entertainment, many sporting events and activities. You can come and just do our event, or join us for a day or two of the Outdoor Festival.
