Race Description

The event will be the 31’th edition and attract runners from mainly Finland and Sweden but also more and more runners from Estonia and Russia. There are also some runners from UK and USA in the starting field every year. In other words this event have become a quite international marathon at a pretty small island in the Baltic Sea. The travel to the island is very easy and comfortable. There are several ferry and air departures each day from the mainland of Finland, Sweden or Estonia.

The marathon is executed at a very flat and fast turning point course. Every year many runners run personal bests and all finishers recieve a heavy special designed medal. The amount of runners are not at the same volumes as the big city marathons in Europe and USA. No, this is another kind of marathon were you run with the elements of the nature and yourself mostly. It’s like getting in contact with the roots of marathon, what it really was about initially.

We really want to meet many runners at the starting line at Wiklof Holding Arena in October! Welcome everybody and challenge yourself!
